Orme celebrated its 52nd Dorothy Swain Lewis Fine Arts Festival. This year’s theme was “Life Through the Color of Art.” It was a high energy week during which students were able to explore their own creativity and discover the artist within themselves. The workshops, led by professional artists, included Oil Painting, Watercolor, Glassblowing, Pottery, Stained Glass, Quilting, Photography, Printmaking, Jewelry, and MIG Welding.
And, as always, our fabulous Festival week culminated with Grandparents Day when Orme’s Buck Hart Horsecollar Theater became the venue for final student workshop performances in Music, Latin Dance, Video Production, Poetry and Story Readings, and West African Drumming. Families and guests were also able to visit the official FAF (artist) Gallery and a Student Art Gallery on campus.
Our many thanks to all of the artists who gave of their time, inspiration and talents, and who spent a week here on The Orme School campus leading and teaching our students and faculty. We appreciate them all so much!
