Stanley Knowlton returned to Orme as a Trustee from 2001-2009. Three of his children and one of his grandchildren attended Orme Summer Below:Camp. His daughter Martha Knowlton A letter fromgraduated from Orme School in 1975. Stanley to hisStanley is responsible for the creation of Minnas Garden at the ranch. He is parents in 1935.the oldest rider to have participated in Los Vaqueros de Farmacia, at age 79. Stanley still visits Orme to this day.recalls reading the iconic novel Gone with the Wind at the young age of 10 or 11.The ranchs isolation did not pre-clude encounters with intriguing visi-tors passing through the vast expanse of land. Occasionally, prospectors and their burros would seek refuge at the ranch, spending the night before embarking on their arduous journey towards the Superstition Mountains.As Stanley grew up, he became more and more attached to the unique school and family he was part of at Orme. The time went by very fast. Life was just a bunch of adventures. After three years the Ormes had become my family. When Stanley left Orme for the next step in his education, he clung to Uncle Chick crying, I dont want to leave, I want to stay at the ranch.The Orme School continues to cultivate an atmosphere that fosters not only academic growth but also an enduring sense of belonging and connection.
