Leaders in Training Camp

July 8 – 20, 2018
Camp Fee: $1,575

Our Leaders in Training Camp is designed for campers ages 15-17 to experience summer from a new perspective. This two-week program will combine leadership development, activity programing skills and trip logistics. LIT includes a two-night camping trip and a service project. LIT campers will participate in Specialty areas (see below). LIT campers will spend one activity block each day as a group working on leadership skill development. During the middle weekend of the two-week session, LIT campers will complete a service project and put their skills to the test with the session ending on a High Ropes Course final challenge. LIT is a great way to work on skills that can be used in future employment, to gain community service hours for school, and to have a fun and great summer!

Horsemanship is geared towards horse-crazy kids who are seeking a camp designed to sharpen their riding and horsemanship skills. Campers will spend their mornings enjoying our beautiful ‘Up Top’ riding area. Campers will be divided according to their riding ability, and workshops will be offered for all levels of riders from beginners to advanced. Led by industry professionals, there will be daily instruction, training, exercises, and more!

Art takes advantage of The Orme School’s amazing art facilities. Campers have the opportunity to learn 2D and 3D art including pottery, drawing, painting, sculpting, printmaking, music, oil, metalwork, ceramics and leathercraft.

Sustainability is designed to engage campers in learning about ecological design, systems thinking and sustainable solutions. This project-based program will allow students to explore sustainability at The Orme School and Summer Camp. Orme features a 200 tree orchard, organic garden, adobe buildings, water catchment, greenhouses and more! This program is a great way for campers to have fun, be creative and get their hands dirty!

Outdoors is for those campers who love to get outside, explore and challenge themselves. Each morning students will participate in a blend of outdoor activities including desert survival skills, hiking, mountain biking, team building and more! Orme Summer Camp is surrounded by the outdoor playground of the Prescott National Forest. At 4000 feet above sea level, The Orme Summer Camp is the gateway to Northern Arizona’s cooler summer temperatures.
