Spring sports finish up strong

Orme School athletic teams had a great season, and finished up strong as students honed their skills on the playing fields.

Soccer
Soccer Team 2015The Orme School Soccer team had a great season with an 8 win/4 loss record. The Orme School went to playoffs as the 8th seed. The Orme team was defeated in the first round by Foothills Academy with a score of 6 to 2.

The Orme Warriors who stood out this year were: Senior Isaac Arriaga with 4 goals and 5 assists; Senior Tristan Tollas with 3 goals (and he controlled the back field); Junior Jakoby Bell, Goalie with 61 saves; Junior Danny Bui with 3 goals, 2 assists and he controlled the back field; Sophomore Alex Aleman with 7 goals and 6 assists; Sophomore Jonathan Lehn, Goalie with 143 saves, 4 goals and 3 assists; Junior Eric Zabalza with 1 goal and 2 assists; and Freshman Hayden Binkley with 9 goals and 4 assists.

The Orme School had three of its soccer players selected to the First Team All-State Mid Field. They are Tristan Tollas, Defense Danny Bui and Goalie Jonathan Lehn.

 

Track & Field
Track Team 2015This season the Orme Track & Field Team started with 7 athletes, five of whom qualified to attend the State Track and Field event. Junior Danny Bui qualified in the 100, 200, Long Jump and High Jump. Sophomore Jonathan Lehn qualified in the 100, 200, Long Jump and High Jump. Freshman Hayden Binkley qualified in the 100 Long Jump. Sophomore Brent Adcock qualified in Shot Put and Disk. And sophomore Kelly Coyne also qualified in Shot Put and Disk.

Congratulations to the students who placed in State Competitions!

Danny Bui took Third Place in the High Jump with a 5’ jump.

Hayden Binkley took Third Place in the Long Jump with a 19’ jump.

Brent Adcock took Second Place in Shot Put at 33.9’ and in Disk at 85.8’.
