Orme Mathletes score big at Embry Riddle competition

Orme math faculty Steve Wolfe, who is also the coach for our Orme Mathletes, reported on the team’s recent competition at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Participating in the 2018 Yavapai County Mathematics Competition, the students individually and as a team did quite well going up against 201 other students.

Orme Team #1 placed 1st overall in the Team Competition, with an incredible 49 out of 50 possible points. Orme Team #2 tied for 2nd Place with 39 points.

In the Individual Competition there are 5 categories, with Level 5 being the top category for students in AP Calculus. Orme 11th grade student Naomi took 1st Place in the Level 5 category!

In the Level 4 category for Pre-Calculus students, 10th grade students Ngoc and Quan took 1st and 2nd Places.

Overall in the Individual Competitions, Orme Mathletes swept the Top 5 Places!
