Orme’s Cross Country team had it’s first meet last week at the Cardin of Tucson International event. A very hot day did not stop our Warriors from giving their very best. In a field of 40 female runners, junior Orme student Twyla came in 7th overall. Orme senior Nyx also gave a strong, non-stop performance in the boys’ category.
Cross Country coach (and English teacher) Josh Bloom stated that, “Our runners survived the race – and that was an accomplishment considering the day’s energy zapping heat that would have melted a superhero or branded Orme cattle! I am encouraged even more now by their potential, and am definitely looking forward to future meets that are in cooler temps!”
The annual Orme ‘Race on the Ranch’ will be held on Saturday, October 16th when The Orme School will host over 200 cross country runners. The race begins at 8:00 a.m. that day. If you are able, come on out and cheer on our Warriors!
Am proud to be a grandparent of your student, Addam Lavender.
