Orme Summer Camp

Session 1: July 8 – 13, 2018
Session 2: July 15 – 20, 2018

Camp Fee: $875 per session, or $1,575 (10% discount) for 2 sessions

The Orme Summer Camp is specifically designed for campers ages 10 – 17. Summer camp at Orme offers campers traditional summer fun, including swimming, arts & crafts, horseback riding, visiting local watering holes, archery, cooking, and evening campfire programs in the enchanting region surrounding our campus. Campers can choose from one of the following Specialized Tracks.

Horsemanship Track

The Horsemanship Track is geared towards horse-crazy kids who are seeking a camp designed to sharpen their riding and horsemanship skills. Campers will spend their mornings enjoying our beautiful ‘Up Top’ riding area. Campers will be divided according to their riding ability, and workshops will be offered for all levels of riders from beginners to advanced. Led by industry professionals, there will be daily instruction, training, exercises, and more! When you’re out of the saddle, there will be plenty of time to enjoy traditional summer camp fun, selected from a wide range of activities with campers from the other specialty tracks. Campers who register for a two-week Horsemanship Track will spend the middle weekend of their session dedicating their time to horsemanship.

Art Track

The Art Track takes advantage of The Orme School’s amazing art facilities. Campers have the opportunity to learn 2D and 3D art including pottery, drawing, painting, sculpting, printmaking, music, oil, metalwork, ceramics and leathercraft. The rest of the day will allow plenty of time to enjoy traditional camp fun, as you select from a wide range of activities with campers from the other specialty tracks. Campers who register for a two week Art Track will spend the middle weekend of their session focusing on completing larger art projects, as well as visiting local art galleries and art communities in Northern Arizona including Sedona and Jerome.

Sustainability Track

The Sustainability Track is designed to engage campers in learning about ecological design, systems thinking and sustainable solutions. This project-based program will allow students to explore sustainability at The Orme School and Summer Camp. Orme features a 200 tree orchard, organic garden, adobe buildings, water catchment, greenhouses and more! This program is a great way for campers to have fun, be creative and get their hands dirty! The rest of the day will allow plenty of time to enjoy traditional summer camp fun, as you select from a wide range of activities with campers from the other specialty tracks. Campers who register for a two week Sustainability Track will spend the middle weekend of their session bringing their projects to completion, as well as visiting examples of sustainable design in Northern Arizona.

Outdoors Track

The Outdoors Track is for those campers who love to get outside, explore and challenge themselves. Each morning students will participate in a blend of outdoor activities including desert survival skills, hiking, mountain biking, team building and more! Orme Summer Camp is surrounded by the outdoor playground of the Prescott National Forest. At 4000 feet above sea level, The Orme Summer Camp is the gateway to Northern Arizona’s cooler summer temperatures. The rest of the day will allow plenty of time to enjoy traditional summer camp fun as you select from a wide range of activities with campers from the other specialty tracks. Campers who register for a two-week Outdoors Track will spend the middle weekend of their session putting their skills to the test as they enjoy a two-night excursion in beautiful Northern Arizona.
